The Missing Days

A long weekend without posts. I will try to catch everything up here. The reason for the blog is so I don't have to rely on my memory and here I am. I will start with Friday evening. On Friday, our fish died. This means that I spent Friday night trying to find a very similar fish to replace it so that we didn't have to lie or explain death to the kids. Saturday, I went to Plant City to see old friends. A particular old friend who is the oldest of all. What I mean is that I have know this guy since I was two years old. Through rough times and good times we have tried to stay in touch and not so much the last eight years as the previous 25. Sometimes it confuses me how someone doesn't change. He is having a tough time right now, and trying to figure out what to do with himself. I offered to let him house sit our place during our vacation, but he ended up passing on that and is headed to Joplin, Missouri to see if he can find work with the needed rebuilding that is going on there. Sunday I was exhausted like I haven't been in a good while. I slept in and then had a nap. We pretty much stayed home and relaxed. In the evening we took the kids to the park for bike riding. Henry was pretty into his new bike. Toby was more interested in the playground. His bike needs some adjusting and TLC. Monday was more relaxing, a few errands and I got to play with the kids in the playroom. That does not happen enough, and I love it. Toby was cooking pretend spaghetti and Henry was trying to use blocks as dominoes and knock them down. We got him real dominoes as a prize for when he finally poops in the potty (this will be soon, hopefully). I tried to go to the gym but it was closed. I guess I will do that tonight.
The blog might start to move more in the direction of a building log for our house renovations, which will probably start soon. We have a meeting with a contractor tonight and another for tomorrow night. They are both highly recommended, so we should be in good hands. The questions become what can we afford and how far to take things.
We are getting our vacation plans together, and we leave Friday. We are not ready. My birthday is coming up soon. Our anniversary, too (5 years). Tonight we are talking about the best place to send Toby for preschool. That too will start soon. We are also talking about a new computer. Next week is the next big Apple WWDC unveiling. What will we get this time. The new operating system is suppose to be coming out.

Went to the pediatrician, and got some new supplement recommendations for Henry. Henry is doing okay, I think. Some days better than others, but okay over all.
Today is one of those days where my head is very scattered. It is almost time to go home and figure out the evening. I am still cleaning from the party. Virginia has knitting group tonight.

Brunch with my parents, movie time with toy story 3, and even a nap. Still quite a bit of cleaning to do.

I got out of work early and went home to do yard work. Date night started around 4 with a trip to swamp head brewery. After this was sushi and gelato. Now it is after 10 and I am back to party prep mode - baking bread charging powerwheel cars and getting ready for an early morning ride to the dump. Awesome.

Today I work late. The planning commission meeting starts at 6 and it looks like this will be a long one.

Toby's birthday dinner

Yesterday was toby's birthday and he got to eat his favorite foods - steak, corn on the cob, and watermelon. After dinner, we had brownies and ice cream.

Hoy dia

Virginia went out of town for the day, so it was me and the boys. Eugene brought Miya over for awhile and he is always fun to talk to. Then he leaves, Toby wakes up and that means movie time - popcorn and the secret of nimh. The kids kept screaming "what is happening?" after that we had to unwind out back and I needed to get some work done in the yard. That is that. It is late again. We (mostly Virginia) began making Toby a play tent for his birthday. He is going to love it.
